When I was young I remember owning small contraption where you would peak through a tiny hole in the front and inside you would see what appeared to be a 3D landscape of a jungle. I loved this thing and it baffled me in the beginning! Until I realised that the 3D image was just an illusion, created by many and many layers of 2D drawings in the correct positions creating this effect.

This is what the game immediately reminded me of! The most brilliant thing about this project is the way it handles environmental art and design. It uses a wide variety of fantastic 2D 'paper-like' drawings to create an immersive and atmospheric three dimensional depiction of a Peruvian rainforest. This is of course a method that has been previously used but here it succeeds so well in communicating the wonderful atmosphere and themes of the game. This is primarily achieved through the simple and delicate arstyle, the variety and density of assets as well as the wonderful color choices.

There is also much to be said about the unique cultural subject explored through this game but I think that's better left to be experienced first hand by the player! Great job!

Woohoo! Preordered and very excited. Can't wait to see the story continue. Best of luck!

This is a very fun short point and click game. The atmosphere is very well executed through the minimalist dark artstyle combined with fitting music and sounds.

I thought the final puzzle was really smart and while not too hard it's satisfying when you figure out the concept.

Great job for a first project and good luck with future ones!

A very unique chapter of the 'Where is?' series with an incredible and immersive atmosphere reflecting the unprecedented course of this year.

The end of 2020 in a few days of course also marks the full conclusion of the special Flash era. Thank you Mateusz for the amazing experiences and the fond memories for more than a decade now. I wish you a happy New Year!

What an awesome game! Got me very nostalgic of the old flash escape room days, especially with the "Where am I?" intro.

The artstyle is very fitting and atmospheric. I didn't have a problem with the game being short as it obviously prioritises quality of quantity. I thought most puzzles were smart and fun but I would say they all were on the easier side.

I also wish the game had more lore-related material. I think this would add to the atmosphere and also expand the game's length.

I am glad to hear the story will continue and I am very much looking forward to the next game. Good job!

I am a giant fan of first person point and click puzzle games which sadly are quite rare nowadays. This was my first time playing a game by EmptyWorldGames.

Almost Blue gives off vibes slightly similar to Mateusz Skutnik's Covert Front series while at the same time maintaining a unique style and atmosphere. The art is great and it really makes you feel like you are in a noir comic.

I liked the puzzles, they were smart and not tedious. I would say they are on the easier side compared to similar games but that probably works in the game's favor as a short and casual experience.

The story is communicated through subtle and cryptic hints which is fine for the most part, but I think some more story clues could have helped as you never get a clear idea of what really happened.

The game does have some 'rough edges'. Like the inventory could look a lot better and the font is pretty hard to read but those are of course just nitpicks.

Overall, Almost Blue was an enjoyable short experience with smart puzzles and a very nice atmosphere and I am looking forward to playing the developer's other games!
